PROJECT OVERVIEW
Develop an original event and invitation that connects Oklahoma City's local culture with the Slow Food movement. The challenge was to create an unexpected, visually engaging experience that would capture residents' attention, communicate the event's purpose, and inspire community participation.

OBJECTIVE & APPROACH
The project began with research into Oklahoma City's culture and its connection to food and agriculture. Through development, sketching, and physical prototyping, I explored how an invitation's form, function, and delivery could create a memorable experience beyond traditional printed materials.
The result was Barnbecue, a farm-to-table BBQ fundraiser built around an invitation disguised as a packaged beef jerky snack. I extended the idea into an integrated event identity, using packaging, print collateral, and promotional materials to create a consistent experience from the first invitation through event day.

03 / THE INVITATION EXPERIENCE
A PHYSICAL INVITATION EXPERIENCE
The invitation is a physical experience — a custom mailer box containing a tote bag and a beef jerky invitation. There is no traditional envelope. The packaging itself communicates the event's identity and values.
